Red

Official Name
If you aren’t a fan of the blockbuster, in your face, red, this might be for you. Beaujolais is a light, juicy red wine, with low tannins and a soft, sweet fruit flavour with a hint of bubblegum (sounds weird but isn’t). It’s made not far from Burgundy from the Gamay grape. Within the region there are different levels of Beaujolais, and as you go up you tend to get a more serious wine with drier tannins.
Things you should know

Top Tip: You can pop Beaujolais in the fridge for half an hour before you drink it for a more refreshing red.

Specific Food Match: The lightness of Beajolais makes it very versatile for lighter pork dishes, and fleshy fish reciples.
