A new entry to the white wine scene

Grüner Veltliner has been a bit of a revelation over the last few years, bursting onto our shelves as an unknown local grape from Austria. We love it because it has the refreshing qualities of a Sauvignon Blanc but a slightly less citrus flavour. Instead you taste crisp apples, white peaches and a hint of spice, making it a really versatile and crowd-pleasing wine. And now Grüner is taking the world by storm with new vineyards popping up in New Zealand too.
Things you should know
