New World Rosé is not for the shrinking violet, it is dark pink and full of a fruit salad of flavours like strawberries, redcurrants, raspberries and the odd blackberry. Unlike some of the earlier rosés they often aren’t completely dry but they are quite boozy. These wines come from warmer climates, more likely to make red wines and include grapes like Malbec, Shiraz, Merlot, Carmenère.

Top Tip: Spend a little bit more and you'll get a drier, more sophisticated version
Specific Food Match: These wines won't go with everything but they like punchy flavours, particularly with satay, spicy marinades, and chargrilling.
