We are (a bit over-)excited to present the WineTubeMap wine app! So many people have asked for one and suggested it over the last couple of years and it’s never been the right time… We’ve been working on it over the last 9 months (digital things take SUCH a long time), and now it’s here!!
The app lets you browse the map, travel the different lines, search by food zones or types of station as well as giving you a mini-guide to each station which includes a pronunciation guide and a star rating section so you can build up your own list of favourites. As well as being able to share what you’re drinking.
It will work in the supermarket, under the table at a restaurant and at home as you’re indulging in a glass or two. You can use the search function to type wines that don’t feature on the map in and find out which station is most similar (the nearest station) and type in what you’re eating for a match recommendation. This bit is obviously a work in progress and we’ll be adding to the database over the next few months based on what we see people searching for.
Here’s a preview of some of the functions, but the best thing to do is to download the app. If you like it and give it a rating we’ll be eternally grateful! Please send us your comments and suggestions we’d love to know what you think and it will help us update things in the future. It’s taken a bit longer than anticipated to get the android app sorted so we’ll be launching that in July – sorry android peeps!
Right, off for a celebratory glass of wine and a browse of the app!
