White Zinfandel is what is commonly referred to as a blush wine. A sweeter style rosé which fuels the X factor and Strictly viewing of the nation. It is loved because it slips down easily and appeals to a sweeter tooth, it is also sniffed at by others for the same reasons. You don’t find many small producers making blush wines, it is mainly the big brands.It is referred to as white or blush because the wine is made with red grapes, but the juice is taken away from the skins really soon to keep a paler colour.
