We all know drinking wine can* make us happy, and now a Brazilian photographer has proven it by capturing the before and after faces of people drinking wine.
Marcos Alberti, a Brazilian photographer, created his WINE PROJECT to explore the saying, “The first glass of wine is all about the food, the second glass is about love and the third glass is about mayhem”. We all know that a glass of wine at the end of the day or with friends can be a relaxing, enjoyable thing. These pictures capture people winding down and distressing, you can physically see the burden of the day being lifted from their faces.
Marco invited people to his studio and took a picture of them when they arrived and after 1, 2 and 3 glasses of wine, he describes on his website… “The first picture was taken right away when our guests have just arrived at the studio in order to capture the stress and the fatigue after a full day after working all day long and from also facing rush hour traffic to get here. Only then fun time and my project could begin. At the end of every glass of wine a snapshot, nothing fancy, a face and a wall, 3 times.”
“The first glass of wine is all about the food, the second glass is about love and the third glass is about mayhem”
We like Marco and his project, and although wine isn’t the only route to happiness, it’s definitely an option.
Here are some of our favourite of Marco’s pictures. Can you spot your ‘wine face’ in there?
