Take the Grüner Veltliner New Zealand exit for a crisp, fresh and zingy wine.

As Grüner Veltliners go this New Zealand version is a pretty good go-to wine. If you’ve never tried Grüner before then this is a good place to start and if you know you are a fan it’s a really good version. Most Grüner Veltliner we see is from it’s homeland, Austria, but Yealands in New Zealand have done a great job with giving it a NZ twist, giving it a lighter, zingier twist.
You get peaches and a touch of florals on the nose with a dab of lime sherbet, and then a fuller palate with more peach and apricot. This would be a super summer lunch wine, which won’t knock you out for the afternoon.
NB This wine was used in the WineLab tasting at Savour and selected in collaboration with Vino.
For attendess of the WineLab the Grüner Veltliner was the first wine on the Music station.
